This sure has been an interesting year. For many of us, a difficult time in our business. Fear of the unknown, and replanning. Being a Wedding Photographer and Commercial (health), it’s completely changed my business. With cancelations and no income from photography coming in, it makes you think. With all of us staying home, what is a photographer to do? For me, I have been learning and practicing every day the Adobe Suite. (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere) I practice recreating pictures in my head with my camera. I am playing with light and seeing what you can do and can’t do. I do this for about 2 hours every day. I walk just about every day while listening to a podcast about business. Someday this will be over. Eventually, we will be back to normal. Someday we will be back doing what we wanted this year. The brides will be back looking forward to there big day. Photographers will be back at doing creativity. Life is always a learning lesson. What are you learning during this tough time? You can do it, and you will get threw this tough time. A year ago, I experienced this tough time, and when I thought it was over, I was wrong. I made a choice from going Full -time photographer to a part-time photographer. I made this choice because I had too. Financially it was tough. I look forward to when I retire and use my experience doing what I love—taking pictures. Someday. For those of you struggling and wondering what is next? Trust in God. He has a purpose for you. You might not see it today but hang in there. I know, as I said, I been there. I am thinking of you.
