Winter Imagination

One of my favorite Holidays is coming. (I think I inherit this from my mother) At the beginning of the year, I had a few goals that I wanted to do in my photography. I wanted to be more creative and better with Adobe software. Well, this whole year, I have been working on both. I got inspired by this composite by watching a Holiday Special by Adobe.

It started with 3 adobe stock pictures that I blended into the main scene. The castle was one, and I cut it out. The snow with the trees and hill was the second, and third was the sky after blending everything in. I added one more cut-out. I needed a deer in this picture. I did a lot of color blending, and my final picture that once again was in my head.

I enjoy compositing and look forward to doing more. Regarding Adobe products, stay tuned; I have some more Holidays with different software coming this week.

Cartoon Fun

I watch a lot of different photography educations on the web. For example, one from Kelbyone was doing action figures with a background. When I watch these episodes, I list things that I want to do sometime. This was one of them that I wanted to do.

Stress Doll

I had this stress doll sitting on my shelf and decided to use my model. So I set up the doll using my living room and went with two lights. One is my key light to light him, and the second is with a blue gel to give a hint of blue in the shadow. The picture was taken, now the background. This I went on a stock photo site, and I knew I wanted a city. I found this nighttime picture of a town, and that was my composite.

This was a found project; in fact, I bought a toy for myself. I want to do this again. Maybe a beach photo with a toy. Not sure yet, but thinking about what I want to do with it. Now onto the next “I always wanted to do it shot”

How the mind works if you let it

II have been watching the past week some adobe lesson’s on all of their products. That is what hit my inspiration on the composite shown below. I am using 11 stock photos, and with the help of Photoshop, I came up with what I had in my mind. As I said before, I can’t draw, but I can imagine, and I know what I like. So with Photoshop and also, in this case, the help of Illustrator is my composite. So what are the 11 photos?

Winter night

  1. It started with the background mountains.

  2. next was the cabin, and I blended it with the snow of the mountains

  3. Next was the tree close to the cabin. I cut it out from another photo and used it.

  4. The middle tree

  5. The smaller tree on the left.

  6. Next was adding the Buck.

  7. I added the two Does.

  8. After blending everything in, the cabin needed smoke. I added smoke.

  9. Change the sky from sunny blue sky to star night sky. I wanted this to be nighttime.

  10. Added the moon to show bright light was coming from something

  11. After looking and thinking I was done, I thought if this was real, I needed to footprints of the deer. This is where Illustrator came. I made them and copied and pasted them in.

  1. There you have it, 11 photo’s to make 1. Thanks, Adobe, for your classes. I get inspired all the time. This project took me some time to work on. But, I am happy with how it came out.

Iphone again

While attending a wedding as a participant and not the photographer. I could not help myself with my iPhone. I saw this gift and said to myself, I like that I need a picture and maybe use it sometimes. So I went around the gift and wanted to take the picture backlit.

Fun with the iPhone

When I got home, I transferred the picture to Lightroom and made some adjustments. Next went through some stock photos of a beach and came up with what you see.

I guess I am saying that the iPhone is a camera and can do things just like some of those thousands of dollars cameras. So don’t use the excuse I need an excellent camera. No, you need a camera to come up with great ideas. Have fun making art.

Having fun with Composite

Having fun playing around with compositing. Composite is when you take two pictures or more and make it look like you intended this picture. I like to keep practicing. In this case, I took a stock photo of the lady. Then I looked at what I was thinking and found a stock picture of the woods. One thing that is important that light is coming from the same direction. It makes it look natural. Once I blended the two photos and matched the color. I thought it was missing something. Out came the brush and made some butterflies. Again matching color with the scene and light, the butterfly was next. Last, I felt it needed type. That was it, and I came up with something that I liked, but more importantly, I got some more practice using Photoshop.
