Last week was for me what has been picking up in weddings call First Look. This is where the bride and groom see each other for the first time. While I know some are saying what? There are some advantages to the first look. The biggest is getting pictures and relaxation for the couple.
We were able to pick more spots and more pictures because we have the time and never felt rushed. Even had time to do some fun things. Then after the ceremony, you are with your family and guests and not rushed.
We talk about this when we are having our pre-wedding plans for the wedding. For us, we will do what you want. The only thing we want is to pick a spot for lighting conditions. With this couple, they were not sure which way to go. With that, we sent them information on both to try to help them out. After all this, they went with First look.
We talked about doing this outdoors at this beautiful spot at a Historical of Time. Place call Sauder Village in Archbold, Ohio. Such a beautiful place and again, the staff was so lovely. We picked a spot, and the plan was made.
As always, we have a meeting to talk about pictures and the day’s schedule about a week or less from the big day. The plan was to take the groom to the spot that we talked about and then have the bride meet us at a specific time. Ok, here we go. What? The bride showed up, and very shortly, the groom showed up. Ok, plan B kicked in. While it was not what we plan, what will never happen again is these two people seeing each other in their wedding outfits that they have been planning for a while. The camera was ready and time to let the couple do their thing. We want them to have their private moment and let them be them. Here is one of the pictures of that alone time.
Wedding Photographer needs to be prepared for anything you never know what is going to happen. Imagine if you did not know your equipment, you might have missed everything. Imagine if you did not know how to handle stress. Well if that is the case, a wedding may not be your thing. You can plan and plan, but weddings have a way of doing things a little off schedule. It’s how you handle it that will make a difference.
