Wedding Day

Congratulations Shannon and Nathan. Had a great time at your wedding. The wedding was a little different for the bride and groom are a camp counselor at Camp Lakota in Defiance, Ohio. They got married by the groom's father at St Isidore"s in Sherwood, Ohio. The reception was held at Camp Lakota and music was put on by All Around Sound from Sherwood, Ohio. I promised a few teaser pictures and here are just a very few of the day. Thank you, Shannon and Nathan, for choosing us as your photographer. We wish you the best in all of your years together.

Such a cool place to take pictures. This was at about 10:00 am. I saw the patch of light on the bridge. I position the bride to get into that patch of light. I wanted to make it look like the sun is backlighting her. With an AD200 and ½ CTO, gel took care of the backlight. I wanted just a little more light on the face — Godox 600 with a 48” octa to care of this. I wanted soft light on the face. Let was to finalize the shot and here is the picture.

This picture I looked at the bridge that they wanted to walk on. Once again, it was about what the light was giving me. In this case, I watched them as they walked. I was looking at how the light was falling on their faces. I wanted the bride to have the light and sacrifice the groom. I switch the bride and groom around so that she would get the light in her face from the grooms white shirt. Next, I put them in a pose. This time no flash. This picture was around 3:30 pm.

I love doing weddings because it never a dull moment. To be part of there day and document it is terrific. The downfall is the workout you get into one day. Typical summer hot and humid. Went there 11 bottles of water, one sweet tea and I found time to change my shirt three times for the day. At the end of the day. I was ready for bed. Next day just a little sore but ready for the next one.
