2024 a New Year

Well, it is time for another year and time for changes. Some want weight loss, and some want a better life. For me, it’s a different business model. One of the changes you will see with me in 2024 is more travel photos. The below picture is th Brooklyn Bridge in New York. My wife Lisa and I took a cruise to the Bermuda. As we started heading out, I wanted a different picture of the bridge and took several pictures to come up with the one below.

Brooklyn Bridge, New York, New York

The Bridge started building 1883 and was offically open May 24, 1883. I wonder how long that would take today?

It was the first suspension bridge to use steel for its cable wire. It was the first bridge to use explosives in a dangerous underwater device called a caisson. At the time it was built, the 3,460-foot Brooklyn Bridge has also crowned the longest suspension bridge in the world. “PBS. organzation”

Looking forward to our next journey and share with you. Whatever your wishes or dream is for 2024. I wish you luck and enjoy your journey.

Wine time

While my wife and I were on our recent cruise, I finally had time to look and post pictures. We were in Mexico when we returned to the cruise ship. We went to the top floor and the lookout window of the front. It was so relaxing and time for a nice glass of wine. Still holding my camera, I liked the backlight that lit this glass of wine. After finding the composition that I liked, I took a few pictures. I wanted to blur out the background because it did not add anything and wanted attention to the wine. I think my settings were like F 3.5, ISO 100, and a speed of 2,000. With that said CHEERS.

Food Photography

The cool thing about photography is all the things you can document and let your mind shoot. While on vacation aboard a cruise ship, we had breakfast every morning, and I knew I wanted to document some of the food we had on board the ship.

Breakfast

This day we ate outside, and I was looking at the light and chose to take a picture of my breakfast sandwich. Why? Because I wanted to. I can’t remember what camera I used, my iPhone or my Canon. I looked at different angles, and this was the one I wanted. I used my white napkin to add some more light to the subject. I have done a few jobs with food and find it fun to take pictures of. Plus, it tells the story of our cruise.

Cruising Norwegian Prima

Cruise time again. I was so excited when we booked one of the newest ship Prima that I could not wait to see what new cruising would look like. First, the boat was beautiful and had some great ideas. The pool hanging out in the water was cool. The restaurant with IPAD ordering was interesting and different; it made it fun. The back boat bar was relaxing when nobody was around. And the top-level front was great. The staff was A-1.

Norwegian in Cozumel, Mexico

That was all of the pluses. The negative was that this ship was not made for the number of people on our cruise. The pool was so packed you could only stand. The entertainment, unless you found a seat about 1 hour or more from an event, you would not see it. This includes music in a few places they had. Food was average; if you liked one menu for the whole week, this was your boat. (For me, I don't like) Thanks to the Vibe Club, it made this vacation a vacation. Without it, I would not have been thrilled. If this is the future of Cruising, it maybe time to look at something else. Like the airlines cutting back, sadly, it's looking like Cruising may be doing the same thing. Possibly it is just Norwegian, just like my old saying. Just because you have one lousy steak does not mean all steak is terrible.

New York New York

This was our first time going out of the port of New York with our cruise line. As we started to head out to sea, I was admiring the architect around us, and yes, the camera was in hand.

One of the nice things with large cities is the time taken with the architect—seeing all the different lines and how they react to the other structures around them.

As our ship kept moving, I kept looking at what I felt were opportunities for a photo. Yes, even the landmarks that we all know.

Such a great city to see. I could not help thinking that possibly my ancestors came across this waterway at one time.
